The European slot Space Agency and NASA's Solar Orbiter have provided an unprecedented view of the Sun since its launch in February 2020, but its latest image is at its best, largest, and highest resolution. CNET's backend won't even let me upload pictures.
This image was created by creating a mosaic of 25 images taken on March 7, when the Solar Orbiter is approximately 46.6 million miles from our star. That's about 10 million miles from the sun than Mercury's orbit.
The Solar Orbiter captures images with an Extreme Ultraviolet Imager, so what you see in the image is not what your eyes see. but ultraviolet light If you squint, you can make creepy ghost faces.
